My new work is being painted on salvage wood from a demolished church from my neigborhood. The bare wood shows through along with the pure white gesso before reaching the actual tempera work.

I love the work, very similar idea to my new stuff, thank god the tempra didn't dry right on my panels or my new pices would have looked like cheap knock offs! Painting them in oil now, and a little more naturalistic than byzantine icons.

You're good!

Your work feels very 'iconic', love it. I particularily like 'life cycle of the universe'

My work in egg tempera started by mixing religious icons with American political imagery. I have more of this series up now so take a look.

Great work! love the two you got up! would love to see more. now, do you know a site where they have the definitions and meanings of the hand positionings and such (the different hand and finger positions have different meanings such as teaching, enlightenment, meditation, etc)
